In The States the revival of the bio-diesel blending credit has begun to put life back into the biodiesel business world. In addition to the increased price of fossil based gasoline it’s a perfect storm for biofuels industry. At the time of writing this content the cost of used oils for biofuel production is:
White Grease (cnt/lb) 50.98
Yellow Grease (cnt/lb) 45.00

Fryer Grease To Produce Renewable Fuel Most large biodiesel producers have engineered an internal system for the collection and recycling of used frying oils (UFO) or waste vegetable oil (WVO) to produce bio-diesel. The product will look at various activity sectors: restaurants, fast food retailers, universities as well as the residential sector. What exactly is Bio-diesel?
This alternative fuel is created from the transesterification of organic oils and is known as biodiesel or methyl ester. The method removes and breaks larger sized and more viscous glycerol estercompounds that don’t combust well in modern diesel powered engines.

[I:http://lucesdebar.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/RonaldBarron9.jpg]One of probably the most discussed alternative fuel sources in the past few years has been algae biofuels. With the world-wide efforts to attempt to cut down on our reliance on fossil fuels, algal biofuels have been showing potential on being able to scale to the quantities of production to inexpensively replace our dependence on traditional oil sources. Beyond the benefits of currently being renewable, algal biofuels have also shown that they’re considerably much better for the environment through the reduced quantities of Carbon Dioxide released at the time of their use. Bio-diesel from algae is one of the alternative fuel sources currently being explored for potential widespread usage. To comprehend this we must first answer the question of what is bio-fuel?
