Is One Computer Actually Sufficient?
Computers are a great thing to have these days. There’s not much they can’t do, and with so many advances in technology, they are getting better and better. Many people are finding that with their personal computer, the limits that existed only a few years ago are obliterated, and anything is possible. Of course, the nagging question remains, how many computers should you own?
For quite a few people, having a decent laptop at home is enough to do the job. With a fast enough processor, and enough memory, you can do pretty much anything you need. Movie downloading, video conferencing, and many other things are easy to do on most desktop computers.
Naturally, you can’t lug your desktop around with you. If you have some important work files that you need to bring to work, it can be difficult. The obvious solution to this is to get a laptop as well as a desktop. That way you can transfer data from your desktop to your laptop, and the problem is solved.
But should you stop there? The next computer people usually buy is an additional desktop for their home. For some people, this is a dedicated computer for gaming. For others, this computer is used for creating large video files.
When it comes to laptops, plenty of people these days are doing the same thing. They’ll keep one laptop for personal use, where they keep all their personal photos and stuff. And they’ll keep another laptop that is strictly for business use. That way there’s no damage of cross contamination.
Naturally, if you can think of many needs for many computers, then there’s nothing stopping you from getting them. To be sure, in the future, households will have plenty of computers for plenty of different purposes.
Computers are probably one of the greatest pieces of technology ever invented. They can help people out, make life more convenient, and entertain us. And the more you think about it, the more reasons you can come up with for having more than one.
